Exhaust gas connection

Exhaust gas connection (AGA)
Fig. 13
Exhaust gas connection
WARNING
Connection heats up during operation!
Risk of burns
Protect the connection line from
unintentional contact.
When sizing the exhaust pipe, the maximum
permissible exhaust gas back pressure according to
the technical description for Vitobloc 200 EM-530/660
(versions SCR and SCR-ready) must be observed
and verified by calculation. The flow velocity must not
exceed 10 m/s due to the flow noise that occurs
above this level.
In the case of prefabricated systems, the exhaust
system must be type-approved, pressure-tight and
pulsation-proof up to 50 mbar (5000 Pa). At this test
pressure, leakage must not exceed 0.006 l/m
3
s
(corresponds to H1).
For plastic exhaust systems, it is essential to install a
high limit safety cut-out. The distance between high
limit safety cut-out and exhaust gas outlet must be no
more than 1 metre.
1 exhaust gas silencer must always be provided for
each CHP unit. When installing the EM-530/660
(versions SCR and SCR-ready) in the living space,
provide 2 consecutive exhaust gas silencers in order
to meet the requirements of rooms requiring particular
protection as per TA Lärm [German Technical
Instructions on Noise Abatement, or local regulations].
(1) Provide a separate exhaust pipe for each
Vitobloc 200 EM-530/660 unit (versions SCR
and SCR-ready).
If using an exhaust gas header in systems with
multiple units, the back flow of exhaust gas into
idle CHP units must be reliably prevented by a
100 % gas-tight motorised shut-off damper for
each unit.
(2) Install the following in the exhaust pipe:
•
Mating flange to exhaust gas outlet flange, with
connection dimensions in accordance with
technical description for Vitobloc 200 EM-530/660
(versions SCR and SCR-ready)
•
Fit the axial expansion joint with stainless steel
bellows for structure-borne noise attenuation
directly
to the CHP unit, ensuring it is stress-free
(materials provided as standard).
•
Install the optional exhaust gas silencer, designed
to meet the specific requirements of the Vitobloc
200 EM-530/660 (versions SCR and SCR-ready),
approx. 1 metre downstream of the exhaust gas
outlet.
•
Cleaning and drainage connectors plus exhaust
gas thermometer and separate test connector.
(3) Insulate the entire exhaust system. Maximum
permissible surface temperature 50 °C.
(4) Commissioning may only be carried out if
verification of the successful tightness test or the
type approval for the pipework used was
produced on registration by a specialist
contractor. (For approval by the chimney sweep,
see "Notification of readiness for commissioning"
(5) Horizontal exhaust pipes must be installed with a
fall of at least 3 % towards the CHP unit for
optimum removal of any condensate that forms;
they must also be fitted with additional
condensate drains, including a trap.
(6) Do not attach any pipework to the CHP unit!
