Joystick Devices
Note: The use of a joystick device is optional. You can select cameras and perform other functions from
the system console’s keys without joystick devices. Joystick devices are required in order to control
pan-and-tilt drives and camera lenses and to control the cursor in the
menus.
Desk-Top Joystick
You may use the
Desk-Top Joystick or the
Joystick Keypad with the system
console (these devices are sold separately). The desk-top joystick allows you to use a conventional
joystick control to pan, tilt and control lens functions. It is also used with
and
multiplexers
for cursor control in the programming menus, receiver mode and electronic pan, tilt and zoom.
Lens control using the desk-top joystick is enabled using the button on the top of the joystick. The zoom,
focus, iris
indicate which function is active. The joystick is then twisted to zoom in or out, focus far or
near, or open/close the iris.
Connect the desk-top joystick to the “Joystick” D-shell connector on the system console’s rear panel.
