Reduction level: 0~255 options when the Lum mode is set as
Reduction or Auto Reduction.
Power Frequency: Select 60 Hz or 50 Hz, depending on your
system.
3.5 Audio Video
Click the “Video and Audio” button on the navigation bar to display
the audio video settings interface as shown below:
Figure 3-6 Video settings
The Audio video settings interface includes 5 tabs: Video, OSD,
Motion, Path and Audio. Click each tab to enter the corresponding
interface.
The following explains each of the 5 tabs in detail.
3.5.1 Video Settings
Users can set certain video parameters for Primary stream,
Secondary stream and MJPEG (Third stream) stream, such as
Resolution, Frame rate, Bit rate, and GOP, etc.
Resolution:
H.264 primary stream: the maximum resolution supported is
1920
×
1080, optional choices are 1280
×
1024, 1280
×
960, 1280
×
720,
1024
×
768, 800
×
600.
H.264 secondary stream: choose from 720
×
480, 640
×
480, 352
×
288,
352
×
240 and Closed.
MJPEG stream: the resolution is MJPEG or CVBS options.
Frame Rate:
The number of compressed frames that the dome
processes per second.
The images will be smoother when the set frame rate is greater. But
the CPU processing ability upon other events will be reduced.
Under H.264 stream, the maximum frame rate is 30fps, and under
MJPEG stream, the maximum frame rate is 1-4fps.
Bit Rate: VBR (
Variable bit rate), CBR (constant bit rate) and
Dynamic options.
With variable bit rate, the system can automatically adjust the
bandwidth of the images per the complexity of the images. In
practical use, the complexity of the video images varies constantly,
as the details of the scene and the moving speed change. If the video
includes too much detail and images in it move fast, then the
bandwidth it uses will be larger. If not, the bandwidth is smaller. If
the Bit Rate is set as “Constant bit rate”, then the images are
transferred by fixed bandwidth capacity, no matter how the
complexity of the images changes. When set to Dynamic, the bit rate
changes depending on the scene activity.
Max bitrate
: When the Bit Rate Control is set as “VBR”, the Bit
Rate limit is set at the same time. If it is set as “CBR”, then the bit
rate is fixed, and the bit rate is defined in the Bit rate limit.
In primary stream transmission, the bit rate limit options are
1000Kbps, 2000Kbps, 3000Kbps, 4000Kbps, 6000Kbps, 8000Kbps
and 10000Kbps; in secondary stream transmission, the bit rate limit
options are 256Kbps, 512Kbps, 1000Kbps and 2000Kbps.
GOP
GOP number is the ratio between I frame and P frame. The higher
the GOP number is, the smaller the data amount is, and thus the less
network resources it uses. The GOP number can be set at a maximum
of 60.
Image Quality
In Third Stream MJPEG transmission, the image quality can be set,
with the options of: Highest, High, Average, Low, Lowest. The
higher quality images will take up more bandwidth.
