Introduction
The information in this manual covers the installation of the Pressurized Housing Surveyor2000 Camera
Dome. Wiring, configuration and operation of the Pressurized Housing version is covered in the Surveyor2000
Installation and Operation Manual. This system should only be installed by a qualified technician using
common hand tools and approved materials in accordance with national, state and local wiring codes.
The Pressurized Housing is the standard IP67 approved version of Surveyor2000. It is a compact, intelligent,
high-speed Camera Dome. The Pressurized Housing version is sold in four (4) prepackaged configurations
with choices in mounting configuration and camera type. All versions use the same firmware for programming
and operation. For programming information, refer to the Surveyor2000 Programming Manual.
Surveyor2000 Pressurized Housing complies with UL standard 2044, CSA safety standard C22.2, No. 1,
meets requirements for an FCC Class A computing device and complies with European Community EMC
Directive 89/336. The product was subjected to the testing outlined in European Normalization Standard EN
50081-1 (Electromagnetic Compatibility-General Emissions Standard Part 1: Residential, Commercial and
Light Industry), and EN 50082-1 (Electromagnetic Compatibility-General Immunity Standard Part 1:
Residential, Commercial, and Light Industry).
Surveyor2000 complies with the fire code of certain local municipalities. The fire code for any given
municipality should be verified for Surveyor2000’s compliance at the installation site.
NOTE: Read all instructions before beginning any installation.
How to Use this Manual
This manual was designed to provide the best overall instructions for the installation of the Pressurized
Housing version of the Surveyor2000 Camera Dome. The graphics and terminology used in this manual have
been carefully selected to enable a clear and distinct understanding of the Pressurized Housing version and its
components.
Accessory Kit
The Accessory Kit is included to provide necessary items during installation. The Accessory Kit contains:

The male 23-pin connector is assembled (early version only) and screwed to the mating female connector on
top of the Pressurized Housing. This connector is the only one available to pass all required signals into the
Pressurized Housing. The screws and washers are used for installing a mounting flange to the top of the
Pressurized Housing.
Unpacking and Inspection
All Vicon equipment is tested and inspected before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to
provide suitable delivery. Inspect the cartons upon delivery and, if damage is present, make detailed notes on
the carrier’s bill. Then, obtain the carrier agent’s signature and file a damage claim as soon as possible. Open
the cartons and inspect the equipment for damage. Save the cartons and packing material. If damage is
present, contact the carrier and file a damage claim immediately. If the equipment must be returned for repair,
follow the instructions in the Shipping Information Section of this manual.
