C)
Direction arrows:
The direction arrows allow you to move through a list. If a single-head arrow, such as ↑ or ↓, is found
on the screen, then the list shown continues off the screen in the direction the arrow is pointing. Using
the arrow buttons will move the cursor through the list so the additional items can be seen.
The double-head arrow symbol (↕) on a line indicates that that particular line has a list of choices
associated with it. The list is viewed, one item at a time, by using the up or down arrow.
D)
Action option:
Actions that can be performed are shown in one of these two locations, either the bottom left corner or
the bottom right corner of the screen. Common options are “Next” and “Select”. The action is
selected by pressing the soft selection button below the action word (labelled “E” in the diagram
above). A line on the front panel links the selection button with the action above it. If there is no text
in the action option location, then there is no action available.
E)
Selection button:
Pressing a selection button will perform the action associated with the button. The action is displayed
in one of the Action option locations, labelled “D” in the diagram above. A line on the front panel
links the selection button with the action above it. The buttons are referred to as the left selection
button, which is on the left, and the right selection button, which is on the right.
F)
Menu button:
The menu button moves up through the menu hierarchy. It may need to be pressed more than once to
get to the desired menu location. If “Next” or “Accept” are not displayed then the Menu button is used
to accept (save) the settings on the screen and move up the menu hierarchy. If “Next” or “Accept” are
displayed then pressing the Menu button will abandon the settings on the screen and move up the
menu hierarchy.
G)
GPS status line 1:
The GPS location information is displayed on this line when the GPS is locked. If the GPS is not
locked then this line displays the GPS status. The different status messages are explained in the
Appendix (section 5.1.1).
GPS status line 2:
The number of satellites in view and SBAS indicator are shown on this line. Note that SBAS is
supported only on model VR100-200
