Setting the Registry for Windows Media Format Encoding
Setting the Registry for Windows Media Format
Encoding
If you want at least one of your secondary streams to be a Windows Media-
formatted file (previously known as ASF), select the
AsfEnabled
encoding
option in the
DualEnc
Registry table. When this feature is turned on, your
encoding session will result in a primary MPEG-2 stream and a secondary
stream in WMV format. It can be encoded in SIF (352 x 240/288) or QSIF
(176 x 120/144) resolutions, as defined in the
DualEnc
Registry table, with
QSIF requiring less CPU usage than SIF. Other resolutions are valid but may
not be valid for other secondary streams. Some other valid WMF resolutions
include 200 x 200, 240 x 200 and 120 x 100.

mines the quality and

Improved quality
may required more
CPU usage. Selecting
two or more at once
automatically turns
on SureStreaming,
which will also
increase CPU usage.
