4.4.5 Fitting the insulation and the casing
To fit the insulation and the casing, proceed in the re-
verse order:
• Fit the insulation from top to bottom - see Fig. 4.8.
• Fit the casing jacket by first hooking the holes in the
right hand side of the jacket into the column -
see Fig. 4.6.
• Then walk around the cylinder with the jacket and lock
the left hand side of the jacket with the fasteners.
h
Note
Check that the covers are correctly seated, to
prevent heat loss.
• Align the cylinder vertically with the adjustable feet.

Fitting the DHW supply lines
To connect the DHW lines to the solar cylinder unit, Vail-
lant offers various piping sets as accessories for on-wall
or in-wall installation. Connection accessories, for exam-
ple, can be acquired for tolerance compensation both in
horizontal and vertical direction to ensure sufficient
flexibility during the installation if the appliance is con-
nected to a circulating water heater. Information re-
garding accessories can be found in the applicable price
list.
h
Note!
Observe the manuals supplied with the
respective accessories for the installation of
the connection lines.
The piping to be installed on the customer side requires
the following components:
- DHW thermostatic mixing valve
– DHW expansion vessel, as required
– Pressure reducer in the cold water line, as required
– Non-return valve in the heating circuit, as required
– Service valves
– Legionella protection pump, as required
There is an accessory kit (Part No. 305 967) available
for the installation of pipes by the customer which con-
sists of four brackets.
These permit the connection of copper pipes (Ø 15 mm)
by means of compression fittings.
DHW thermostatic mixing valve
The DHW thermostatic mixing valve allows the hot
water from the cylinder to be mixed with cold water to a
desired maximum temperature between 30 and 70° C.
If the DHW thermostatic mixing is set to the desired
maximum temperature during start-up, this maximum
temperature will be maintained at the hot water taps.
H
Danger!
Set the thermostat mixer to below 60 °C and
check the temperature at a hot water tap to
ensure effective protection against scalding.

Caution!
The total length of the connection lines be-
tween the collector and the solar cylinder unit
may not exceed 40 m, which means no more
than 20 m of 2 in 1 solar copper pipe (total
length 40 m) can be used.
Vaillant cannot guarantee the function of the
solar energy system if the entire length of the
connection pipes exceed 40 m or if the inner di-
ameter of the connection pipe is other than
8.4 mm.
Caution!
Vaillant can only guarantee the function of the
solar energy system if 2 in 1 solar copper pipe
of 10 m in length (Part No. 302359) or 20 m in
length (Part No. 302360) is used and the solar
energy system is filled with Vaillant solar fluid
(Part No. 302363,302498).
