Recovery from Problem Conditions

Documents are not
pocketed correctly.

Examples of incorrectly pocketed documents include
documents that jam at the pocket entrances, documents
that fall out of pockets, and documents that curl in pockets.
Follow these steps to correct pocketing problems:

1. Ensure that document preparation steps given in

Section 3 are followed.

2. Ensure that daily and weekly cleaning procedures given

in Section 3 are followed.

3. Ensure that flexures are in good condition and properly

installed. Replace damaged flexures as described in
Section 5.

4. Ensure that check limiters are in place.

To reprocess documents, follow the procedures in
“Recovering from Processing Problems,” earlier in this
section.

Endorsements are missing
or are of poor quality.

If the endorsing function has not previously been used,
ensure that the Source NDP has an endorser. Look for the
endorser cartridge or the slide into which the cartridge fits
under the top-right cover. (The style number visible on the
identification plate underneath the unit can be used to
identify units that are equipped with the endorser option.)

Correct for missing or poor quality endorsements:

1. Make sure that the endorser is in one of the three

height positions. (The positions have a notch so that
the cartridge housing clicks into place.) Attempt to
resume operation.

2. Remove the print cartridge, and inspect the endorser

housing. Remove any debris, and clean the housing.

3. Prime the Inkjet cartridge by pushing on the ink bladder

with a paper clip inserted through the access hole at the
rear of the Inkjet cartridge. Allow the ink to absorb back
into the cartridge, and wipe off any excess ink with a
dry tissue.

4. Return the Inkjet cartridge to the housing, and resume

operation if the problem is resolved.

5. If previous steps have not solved the problem, replace
the Inkjet cartridge with a new cartridge.
