Recovery from Problem Conditions

3.  Power the unit off and wait for one minute. 

4.  Power the unit on.  The power indicator should light, 

and the Ready indicator should display the normal 
power-on indications.  It should blink yellow and, after 
about a minute, change to blinking green or solid green. 

5.  If the problem is resolved, resume operation by 

following the steps in “Recovering from Processing 
Problems,” earlier in this section.  Otherwise, continue 
with the next step. 

6.  If the Ready indicator does not change to solid green 

after several minutes, request assistance.  The 
application may not be ready, the Source NDP Manager 
program may not be running, or there may be a network 
problem. 

 

The Ready indicator is solid 
yellow. 

A processing problem has occurred.  The Ready indicator 
remains solid yellow until the problem is cleared and 
document processing is restarted.  To recover, follow the 
procedures in “Recovering from Processing Problems,” 
earlier in this section. 

Processing problems may include document problems, 
machine problems, or application errors.  Examples of 
problems are jams, double documents fed, skewed 
documents fed, obstructions in the track, and documents 
being too long or too short to process.  (A hole in the 
document may cause a too-short condition.)  

For satisfactory processing, ensure that  

• 

Documents are correctly prepared. 

• 

Document edges are aligned and bottom edges are 
against the feeder floor. 

Persistent problems may result from machine and 
application problems or host PC or network problems and 
normally require assistance.
