Note that this IP address is used for
Prima IP
PPP server, and is distinct from the one (default
= 192.168.1.200) that is used by
Prima IP
on local area network.
Enable
Prima IP
PPP Client for Dial-in connection to a PPP server in your ISP or to an
Enterprise PPP Server
You could enable the PPP Client feature, if the only way to get your Prima IP on network is
through Prima IP’s dial-in request to your ISP or enterprise PPP server. In most cases, you
should request a fixed IP address for Prima IP as a PPP client, so that remote users who will
access Prima IP will know how to access its correct IP. If, however, the a static IP is not
available, as in some cases using a dial-in account given by ISP, you could always look up the
dynamic IP assigned to Prima IP by your ISP or enterprise PPP server and give it to those
remote users who will want to access Prima IP in this way.
First, you should have an Dial-in account from your ISP or enterprise RAS service that accept PPP
connection over phoneline.
Enable PPP Client : Check this option if you want to enable
Prima IP
as a PPP client, which
could dial in via a phone modem to your ISP or Enterprise PPP server.
Maximum Speed (bps) : select the maximum serial modem speed for the PPP connection.
User Name : Here you should specify the user name used by
Prima IP
as a PPP client to log in
to the ISP or enterprise PPP server.
Password : Here you should specify the password that is used by
Prima IP
for logging in to the
PPP server.
Password (confirm) : Here type in the same password again for confirmation.
