PPP Connection over direct serial cable with Prima IP as PPP Server
To enable
Prima IP
as the PPP server
, you should still specify the following settings ….
Prima IP
address : Enter an IP address here (default = 192.168.2.200) to be used by the
Prima IP
in the PPP connection. This IP address here entered will be used only in PPP
connection by
Prima IP
alone, and should be distinct from the IP address (default =
192.168.1.200) that is specified in the
LAN TCP/IP
page and used for connection via direct
network.
Peer IP Address : Enter another IP address here (default = 192.168.2.201) to be assigned by
Prima IP
to the peer computer that has requested a PPP connection to
Prima IP
PPP server.
Maximum Speed (bps) : select the maximum serial modem speed for the PPP connection.
User Name : Here you should specify the user name for PPP connection login by the peer
computer.
Password : Here you should specify the password that is used by peer computer.
Password (Confirm) : Here type in the same password again for confirmation.
Modem Initialization (Chat Script Style) : the modem initialization script is a chat script that will
initialize modem to be ready for connection. The standard script provided here by default should
be able to work on most of the PPP connection over direct serial cable (Null Modem):

Local IP address : When the PPP connection is established, the

local IP address that is used for PPP connection will be shown here, for example: 192.168.2.200.
However, if the PPP connection is not yet established, the IP address will be shown as
