CHAPTER 3 - UNIT PREPARATIONS
3.1. Handling Instructions
The Instinct must be transferred to the installation
location whilst fully packed to prevent any transit
damage. Once in the correct position the packaged
appliance must be stood upright. The Instinct packaging
can now be removed. Perforations in the packaging
will assist in this. Once the outer packaging has been
removed, the packaging beneath the appliance can be
removed. Discard all packaging material and recycle
where possible.
SAFE HANDLING
This boiler may require 2 or more operatives to move it
to its installation site, remove it from its packaging base
and during movement into its installation location.
Use care not to drop, bump or rotate the boiler
upside down, as damage to the boiler will result.
The Instinct is supplied with an acoustic dampening
foam insert located in the appliance air inlet. DO NOT
remove this on any installation. The LP foam (110 and
155 models only) is to be installed in addition to the
preinstalled foam when converting to Propane.

3.2. Floor Mounting Installation
The boiler must stand on a non-combustible floor
(i.e. concrete or brick) which must be flat, level and of
a suitable load bearing capacity to support the weight
of the boiler (when filled with water) and any ancillary
equipment.
The position of the appliance should comply with the
stated service clearances. Refer to chapter 1.5 Best Practice.
Adequate clearance must be allowed to accommodate
the hydraulic separator fitting where used.

Note. All weights above include INSTINCT water
volumes.
Failure to comply with these requirements can
result in substantial property damage, serious
injury, or death.
3.3. Accessories
Unpack and check the the list of all accessories as
shown in
Fig. 5 below.
