Operating limit switch / emergency limit switch
During lifting processes the drive path must be limited by one or
multiple limit switches, so that the upward and/or downward
movement is stopped. The operator or the system manufacturer
must determine the design and the fitting position of the limit
switches when taking their risk assessment into account.
The operator or system manufacturer must install an operational
limit switch and, if necessary, an emergency limit switch and a
floor limit switch and connect them to the hoist. The limit switches
must have a positive opening.
Limit switch UP
The limit switch UP runs through a clamp and this prevents the
wire rope from being pulled completely into the reeler. This limits
the path in the UP direction.
Free reeler
Rope end switch (limit switch DOWN)
The rope end switch runs through an adjusting ring and this
prevents the wire rope from running completely off of the free
reeler. This limits the path in the DOWN direction.
Driven reeler
Rope end switch and winding monitor (limit switch DOWN)
The winding monitor switches off as soon as the rope slackens
on the rope reel or if the end of the rope runs off the rope reel.
Activation occurs with either upward and downward movement.
4.8
Anchoring
The hoist is attached to a suitable anchoring point using a rope
sling or a belt. In the pulling direction the hoist must pull at an
angle of less than 2° (see Fig. 9).
If a load is raised or pulled through an opening in a load-bearing
roof or wall then the hoist is placed above or in front of the open-
ing (see Fig. 9).
Note:
If the rope hook does not fit through the opening then during the
rope assembly (see '9.3 Assembly, Mount the rope' on page 13)
feed the other end of the rope through the opening and then into
the hoist (see Fig. 9).
Hoists with optional swivel pulley
See also '9.3 Assembly' on page 12.

Load limits
DANGER!
Incorrect anchoring! Incorrect usage!
Risk of being injured by falling objects!
The strain on the deflection roller, rigging and anchoring point
increases depending on the arrangement of the hoisting gear,
deflection roller and load!
–
The minimum breaking strength of the deflection rollers,
the rigging and the anchoring points must exceed the
hoist's maximum working load in the given installation
situation by 4times (see Fig. 9).
The hoist's payload can be increased by reeving the rope, See
Fig. 9 (F corresponds to the hoist's maximum working load). The
maximum working load must never be exceeded by using reev-
ing.
When using swivel pulleys the limit switch UP can no longer be
triggered by the double clamp mounted on the rope.
–
The operator must pay special attention to the load or have
a supervisor observe the load. The rope hook must not be
pulled into the deflection rollers.
Note:
Reeving the rope reduces the hoist speed.
5
Ropes
DANGER!
Incorrect rope or rope with incorrect diameter!
Using an incorrect rope leads to a risk of falling or being in-
jured by falling objects and the risk of malfunctions!
–
In order to operate safely only use original ropes author-
ized by TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH with the correct rope
diameter and the required design.
–
If the load cannot be guided by on-site means then a low-
twist rope with a swivel hook or a rope swivel must be
used. Swivel hook and rope swivel must turn freely when
subjected to loads.
–
The required rope diameter is listed in Table 1 on page II.
The design is listed in Table 7 on page 23.
The rope is included in the scope of delivery.
