Installing Windows NT Server 4.0

  92

Creating diskette drivers

Before installing Windows NT Server 4.0, you need to create necessary drivers.  Please 
follow these steps:

1

Insert the Magnia 510D Software and Documentation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM 
drive and the driver disk in the floppy disk drive of a workstation or server that is 
already running DOS, Windows 95/98, NT or 2000 operating system. 

2

If you are using a Windows operating system, then open a DOS command shell.

3

Change directories to the \FIMG directory on the CD-ROM.

4

Insert a blank formatted diskette in in drive A: and issue the command 

FDIMG.EXE -w imagename.img A

where imagename is the name of the driver you need to create.

5

Repeat steps 4 for each driver needed.

6

Create the following drivers before installing Windows NT 4.0:

- Adaptec 7800 Family Manager Set v3.03 for Windows NT 4.0/95/98 (if a SCSI 

controller is installed)

- D-Link DFE-550TX Driver Set 2.1.0 or Intel EtherExpress Pro/100+ Server Adapter 

Drivers v3.1

- AMI MegaRAID 466 Drivers and Utilities v2.0 (if a RAID controller is installed)

NOTE: Store the backup diskettes in a safe place.
