6 Hygiene
on aldehyde, alcohol, ammonium, peracetic acid and hydrogen
peroxide. Do not use any disinfectants based on alkylamines,
phenols, halogens, and strong organic acids or highly oxygen-
splitting disinfectants, due to possible damage to the materials
employed in the device.
To conform to the requirements with respect to the sporocidal,
bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal effects, only use disinfectants
based on peracetic acid and aldehydes. In the latter case, take great
care to remove any residues.
To disinfect the device, use wipe disinfection on all surfaces and
immersion disinfection on the removable parts.
6.2.1.1 Disinfectants

6.2.1.2 Preparation accessories
· 2 pairs disposable gloves made of vinyl or butyl rubber (no
latex), unpowdered,
· 1 pair safety glasses,
· lint-free paper towels (cosmetic or cleaning tissue),
· standard commercial cotton swabs (Q-Tips),
· biodegradable cleaning agent (for instance Fit, Pril, Fairy
Ultra),
· disposable plastic 60 ml-syringe without needle,
· 3 immersion basins with at least 1000 ml volume capacity,
· distilled water,
· 70% ethyl alcohol,
· apparatus for time registration (e.g. stopwatch).
