VALVE MOTOR REPLACEMENT
- Dismount the valve as indicated in the corresponding paragraph.
- Unscrew the screw (1) and remove the lever (2).
- Unscrew the screws (3) and remove the motor (4).
- Replace the motor (4) and screw the screws (3).
- Remount the lever (2) in “A” position and check that it reaches position
“B” at most by rotating it upwards and “C” position by rotating it down-
wards. If this doesn’t occur, it is necessary to remove the lever (2) and
to remount it slightly moving it.
- Fix the lever by screwing the screw (1).
- Remount the valve as described in the corresponding paragraph.
MEMORISING SYSTEM LIMIT SWITCH POINTS (MX - SMK)
Before starting the engine, it is necessary to store in the exhaust valve con-
trol unit the end-stroke points. This must be always done after each service
operation: disassembling of system from the bike, etc.
- The connection outlet is positioned on the left part of the motorcycle,
under the tank.
- Extract the outlet (1), remove the protective cap (2).
- A 12V battery is required.
- Connect the optional wiring (3) harness TM Part Number: 68492 al
connettore (1).
After around 4 seconds the system start the self-storing operation which
consists of 3 steps:
1. The exhaust valve is moved to the closing point
2. The exhaust valve is moved to the max. opening point
3. The exhaust valve is moved again to the closing point.
Now the system is ready,
- Disconnect the wiring (3) and remount the protective cap (2) back into
the outlet (1).
