Chapter 9 AMTOR Operation
In
PTCONN
, this command accomplishes the same thing as sending the
PTOVER
character.
OVER
is useful in
Host mode when sending transparent data ( CONMODE TRANS ). To change from ISS to IRS, you’d normally
send the
PTOVER
character, but in Transparent mode, the character would be sent as data and would not change
the link direction.
OVER
changes the direction without the need to change
CONMODE
to
CONV
first.
In AMTOR ARQ, this command inserts “+?” into the data stream being sent. With
EAS ON
, the “+?” is echoed to
the terminal.
QTor Default: 1 (Modem 1)
Mode: AMTOR Host: QT
n Modem number to be selected when the AMTOR mode is entered.
QTOR sets the DSP-232 modem that will automatically be selected when the AMTOR mode is entered.

RCVE
is used in Morse, Baudot, ASCII, AMTOR, and PACTOR modes to switch your DSP from transmit to
receive.
You
must ( RETURN ) to the Command mode to use RCVE .
RECeive n Default: $04 ( CTRL-D )
Mode: Baudot/ASCII/Morse/AMTOR/PACTOR Host: RE
“n” 0 to $7F (0 to 127 decimal) specifies an ASCII character code.
Parameter
“n” is the numeric ASCII code for the character you’ll use when you want the DSP to ( RETURN ) to
receive.
The
RECEIVE
command allows you to insert a character in your typed text that will cause the DSP to (
RETURN
)
to receive after all the text has been transmitted.
RFec ON

N Mode B (FEC) signals are displayed in AMTOR Standby (default).
OFF
Mode B (FEC) signals aren’t displayed in AMTOR Standby.
Turn

to prevent the reception and display of all FEC signals received while in AMTOR Stand-by.
RXRev ON | OFF Default: OFF
Mode: Baudot and ASCII RTTY/AMTOR Host: RX
OFF
Received data polarity is normal.
ON Received data polarity is reversed (mark-space reversal).
Use
RXREV to invert the polarity of the data demodulated from the received mark and space tones. So, instead of
“space” equalling zero, it’d be one; “mark” would equal zero instead of one.
In some cases, you may be trying to copy a station that’s transmitting “upside down” although it’s receiving your
signals correctly. This is especially true when listening to signals in the shortwave bands. Set
RXREV ON
to
reverse the data sense of received signals.
