Chapter 5

Software

Thorlabs provides a bundled software for the PDXC which accesses all the features supported by the controller. It
comes with each PDXC unit and can also be downloaded from Thorlabs website.

We also provide C/C++ and LabVIEW® software development kits for controlling the PDXC with other instruments
through the USB port on the controller. Sample C++ code and LabVIEW programs help to illustrate how the C
commands and LabVIEW VIs can be utilized. Full documentation on the available commands is provided in the
SDK manual.

5.1. D-Sub Output Mode

In D-Sub Output Mode, the main display can be divided into several parts: the top ribbon is the main menu,
containing Connect/Disconnect, Home, Store, Options, Update, Support, and Help. The display below is the part
number of device, as well as the hardware and firmware version numbers. The Position and Velocity parameters
are in units of mm and mm/s respectively. The same operations from the front panel are available, users can switch
between closed-loop and open-loop operations. For more intuitive operations, users can set parameters and move
the stage just by clicking Move or Jog in the lower right side of GUI.

The main menu in D-Sub Output Mode is shown below:

There are a few buttons on the main menu:
