Themis Computer

1.4.3

Serial Ports E/F (TTYE/F)

TTYE and TTYF are supported by the Siemens SAB82532 DUART serial control-
ler, located on the PMC Carrier Board. They are available from the PMC Carrier
Board Front Panel or from the PMC Carrier Board VME P2 bus.

1.4.3.1 Front Panel Connection

Use cable P/N-108113 of the integration kit (male Micro DB9 to male SubDB25).
Please contact Themis Computer Technical Support for more details.

1.4.3.2 VME P2 Connection

The available paddle boards cannot be used for VME P2 connection (see

Table B-14

, page B-17). You will need to provide your own connectivity, or call

Themis Computer for a cost estimate on building a

custom

Paddle Board.

1.4.4

Parallel (Printer) Port

A printer can be attached to the Baseboard VME P2 (refer to

Table A-2

, page A-4). Please

note that the Standard Paddle Board cannot be used to access the parallel port. You will
need a Multiple I/O Paddle Board; or you may also provide your own connectivity or call
Themis Computer for a cost estimate on building a

custom

Paddle Board.

PMC (Expansion) Module Slots

The Baseboard contains a single PMC Module slot (see Appendix C, “Front Panel
Diagrams”). The PMC Carrier Board contains two (USPII

e

-USB/2P2) or three

(USPII

e

-USB/2P3) PMC Module slots. User I/O pins are available on the PMC Car-

rier Board VME P2 connector. For information on how to access the user I/O pins,
please refer to Appendix A, “Connector Pinouts, LEDs, Switches”.

1.4.6

Ethernet Network

The USPII

e

-USB features an RJ45 port on the Front Panel for 10/100Base-T Ether-

net interface connections.

In the case of the

USPIIe

-USB

/1

, where only the Baseboard is present, a single net-

work connection (Ethernet A) is available through the RJ45 connector. In the case of
the

USPIIe

-USB

/2P2

, a second network (Ethernet B) can be available through the

Audio/Ethernet/Serial-I/O section of the P2 Carrier Board Front Panel. Both Ether-
net A and B may be active simultaneously.
