Baseboard Solder Beads

Solder beads are found only on the 

bottom side

 (solder side) of the USPII

-USB

Baseboard and are described in 

Table B-5

. 

In

, if no pin number is given, only

solder pins exist. If there are

pins, the two pins listed are shorted together. 

Short

 means a solder bead is installed,

creating an electrical path between two contacts. 

Open

 means no solder bead is

installed, hence the path between the contacts is open.

Caution:

When dealing with a 

3-pin

 solder-bead switch, a solder bead will short

only one set of pins, either 1–2 or 2–3. 

If a solder bead shorts more than 2 pins, call Themis Customer Support.
