PMC Carrier Board

PMC Carrier Board (see
Figure 2-2
, page 2-5) supports two
(2) PMC Module slots (to support vendor-specific, 32/64-bit, 33-MHz, PMC expan-
sion Modules) and on-board Audio/Ethernet/Serial-I/O features.

PMC Carrier Board supports three (3) PMC Module slots (to
support vendor-specific, 32/64-bit, 33-MHz, PMC expansion Modules).
User I/O on the PMC Carrier Board can be accessed from both front-panel and
paddle-board connectors. In some instances, accessing a signal from one of these
access sources prevents the signal from being accessed from the second source.
User I/O on the PMC Carrier Board may be reconfigured. For example, 64 bits of
user I/O may be made available on PMC Module slot 1, presuming the user I/O on
PMC Module slot 2 is not used. On the other hand, 32 bits of user I/O may be made
available on both PMC Module slot 1 and PMC Module slot 2.
For example, if TTYA is routed to the VME P2 backplane, then TTYA cannot be
accessed from the Front Panel (in this case, the parallel port also cannot be accessed
from the VME P2 backplane).
The PMC Carrier Board has the following I/O support on its Front Panel:

Note:
User I/O signals can be brought from PMC Modules in
slot 1
and
slot 2
to
the VME P2 connector of the PMC Carrier Board.
A PMC Module in
slot 3
has
no
I/O-signal access through the VME P2 connector
of the PMC Carrier Board.
Caution:
It is important to make sure that a jumper-pin or solder-bead configura-
tion does not result in an
unwanted change
of system operational parameters.
