Behaviour in traffic
» Adapt speed and work to the surrounding conditions.
» Switch on the lights when visibility is poor or reduced.
» Maintain sufficient distance from low kerbs and soft shoulders.
Parking the vehicle
» Park the vehicle on flat, firm surfaces as much as possible.
» Before leaving the cabin:
-
set all the operating controls to neutral,
-
engage the hand brake,
-
switch off the engine and remove the ignition key.
» Do not jump from the vehicle. Make use of the steps and handles intended for this purpose when
getting off the vehicle.
» Beware of obstacles when leaving the vehicle.
» When parking or stopping on slopes, always engage the hand brake to prevent the vehicle from
rolling downhill
Refuelling
» Do not inhale the fuel fumes. Risk of health complaints.
» Always switch off the vehicle and the engine when refuelling.
» Do not refuel in enclosed areas.
» No unprotected fire and no smoking.
» Avoid spilling fuel. Catch spilt fuel and prevent it from seeping into the ground.

Safety regulations for maintenance
Before carrying out maintenance
» Maintenance may only be carried out by qualified and authorized persons (see § 1.2). Keep
unauthorized persons away from the vehicle.
» Never carry out maintenance work while the vehicle is moving or the engine is running.
» Park the vehicle on a flat, firm surface.
» Remove the key from the ignition.
Working on the hydraulic systems
» The hydraulic system must always be completely dead and depressurized before any work can be
carried out on it.
» Never check for leaks in the hydraulic system by hand or close leaks by hand.
When ejected under pressure, hydraulic fluid can penetrate clothes or skin and cause
severe injuries!
Contact a doctor immediately in the event of injuries caused by hydraulic fluid!
» Do not adjust overpressure valves.
» Only drain cold hydraulic fluid.
» Under no circumstances may the engine be started or operated manually once the hydraulic fluid
has been drained.
» Collect spilt and drained-off hydraulic fluid in a container and dispose of in an environmentally-
friendly manner.
» Always check the hydraulic system for leaks when work of any kind has been completed.
