5.5.
Using the third brush (optional)
The third brush is located at the front of the vehicle.
Adapt the driving and sweeping pattern to this brush attachment.
In order to achieve good sweeping results, the third brush must always be used in combination with
the brushes as described in § 5.1.
Take the prevailing conditions into account when selecting the brush speed. When sweeping
severely polluted areas, it is recommended to use a high brush speed and a low driving speed.
1)
Follow the "Start sweeping" procedure (§ 5.2), but do not drive off yet.
2)
Bring the third brush to the desired position with the joystick (see § 3.9).
3)
Switch on the third brush with the desired direction of rotation.
4)
Lower the third brush.
5)
Adjust the pressure of the third brush to the surface (fig. 5, no. 2).
6)
Adjust the angle of the third brush.
7)
Engage the sprayer in case of undesired dust clouds (fig. 5, no. 9).
8)
Gently push in the accelerator.
The vehicle will move slowly forward.
When work with the third brush has been completed:
-
the brush must be raised and placed in front of the vehicle,
-
the sprayer must be switched off, and
-
the “Stop sweeping” procedure (§ 5.3) must be carried out.
Good control of the third brush can only be realised through thorough training. Inexpert
operation could cause damage to the vehicle and/or the third brush system and give rise to
hazardous situations.
