4. Disconnect the potentiometer from the

harness and circuit board. Remove the
potentiometer from the machine.

5. Install the new potentiometer onto the mount

bracket in the same orientation as the old
one. Leave the jam nut loose for now.

6. Reinstall the plastic gear onto the shaft of

the new potentiometer. Make sure the gear
is in the same orientation on the shaft as the
old one.

7. See TO ADJUST POTENTIOMETER

instructions in this section.

8. Adjust the new potentiometer so that the

teeth on the gear fully engage the teeth on
the hub and gear assembly. Make sure not
to push the gears too tightly together so they
bind. Tighten the potentiometer jam nut. DO
NOT over tighten the jam nut or damage to
the switch may occur.

9. Reinstall the instrument panel. See TO

ACCESS INSTRUMENT PANEL
instructions. Operate the machine. Check
the propelling for proper operation. Make
sure the machine stops propelling when the
handles are released.
