TLS 216 User Manual

To Determine the Zoom Factors

To quickly determine the zoom factor of a zoomed group, select it and check the
zoom readout. It shows the selected group by number, along with the horizontal
and vertical expansion factors.

The zoom readout appears at the top of the display when zoom is on. See
Figure 3-78 on page 3–177.

To Zoom on Waveforms

To use Zoom, select a waveform group, turn zoom on, and magnify it using the
vertical and horizontal scale knobs.

1. Press any of group selection buttons GROUP 1 through GROUP 4 on the

right side of the display. (Press SHIFT first when selecting any of
GROUP 5 through GROUP 8).

2. Press GROUP MENU

 Analog (side) if you wish to

zoom the selected group vertically.

3. Press ZOOM.

4. Press ON (side) in the zoom menu. The ZOOM front-panel button should

light up.

5. Adjust the vertical zoom factor using the vertical SCALE knob. Adjust the

vertical position of the zoomed group using the vertical POSITION knob.

6. Adjust the horizontal zoom factor using the horizontal SCALE knob. Adjust

the vertical position of the zoomed group using the vertical POSITION
knob.

Depending on the selection for Horizontal Lock in the side menu, zoom
affects the displayed groups as follows:

Group — only the group currently selected can be magnified and positioned
horizontally (Figure 3-78).

Live — all “live” (as opposed to reference) groups can be magnified and
positioned horizontally at the same time. (Groups of input channels are
defined as live; saved reference groups are not live.) If a reference group is
selected and Horizontal Lock set to Live, only the selected reference group is
magnified and positioned.

All — all groups displayed (live and reference) can be magnified and
positioned horizontally at the same time.
