Triggering After Delay

The TLS 216 Logic Scope provides a main time base and a delayed time base.
Both main and delay time bases have full-featured trigger systems that provide
edge, pulse, pattern, state, and sequence triggers. This article describes how to
set the logic scope to acquire after a delay expires. This delay, measured from the
main trigger event, can be set in time, events, or both.

To Understand Delayed Acquisitions

To learn how to take delayed acquisitions, read the following topics.

There are two different ways to delay the acquisition of waveforms: delayed runs
after main and delayed triggerable. Only delayed triggerable mode uses the
delayed trigger system.

Delayed runs after main looks for a main trigger, then waits a user-specified
time, and then begins acquiring. (See Figure 3-56.)

Delayed triggerable looks for a main trigger and then, depending on the type of
delayed trigger selected, makes one of the three types of triggered delayed
acquisitions listed below. (See Figure 3-57.)

Triggerable After Time waits the user-specified time, then waits for the next
delayed trigger event, and then acquires.

Triggerable After Events waits for the specified number of delayed trigger events
and then acquires.

Triggerable After Events/Time waits for the specified number of delayed trigger
events, then waits the user-specified time, and then acquires.
