8.4.3 Manual scan
You may choose to scan a specific frequency (see Point 9,
Technical terms) for programmes
(Fig. 8-17)
. To do this, you
will have to enter the following data:
Channel frequency
In this line you must enter the frequency at which the desired
programmes are broadcast.

to mark the line
Channel frequency

to enter the desired
frequency.
Symbol rate
In this line you must enter the symbol rate at which the pro-
grammes are broadcast.

In this line, use the
numeric keys

ired symbol rate.
Modulation
Use this line to enter the modulation type used.

Use the arrow keys up/down to mark the line

key, repeatedly if necessary, to enter
the modulation type used.

Now press the
red
function key
Start scan
. The
scan will commence. Please note any additional mes-
sages displayed on the screen.

If you wish to abort the scan procedure, press the
red
function key again.
To search very specifically for a particular programme, you
may also use the
PID scan
.

Press the
green
function key
PID scan

Then use the
arrow keys up/down
to mark the
lines
PCR PID
,
Audio PID
and
Video PID
and
use the
numeric keys
to enter the appropriate num-
bers.
