Preparing for re-imaging
10 Type:
cd /app/sns7100/appliance/cf_boot/images
and press Enter .
11 Do one of the following:

If the appliance is a 7120, type:
cat 82559er.dsk > /dev/hdc

If the appliance is a 7160 or 7161, type:
cat e1000.dsk > /dev/hdc
This writes the bootable image onto the compact flash card.
12 Do one of the following:

If you plan to continue the imaging process, leave the CF card in the
appliance.
■
Otherwise, push the eject button next to the CF card to remove it.
Creating a bootable compact flash using the Imaging Server
You can create a bootable compact flash on a manually created Imaging Server
by using a USB compact flash adapter. A USB compact flash adapter is a
portable adapter that can be connected to the USB port on the Imaging Server.
The USB CF adapter must be fully functional on the computer even before the
software is installed from the Recovery Software CD. The USB driver is not
provided on the Recovery Software CD.
A manually created Imaging Server allows access to files installed on it from the
Recovery Software CD, including the bootable CF image. An automatic Imaging
Server does not provide a way to access these files.
To create a bootable compact flash using the Imaging Server
1 Insert an 8 MB or larger compact flash card into the USB CF adapter on the
Imaging Server.
2 Login to the Imaging Server as
root

3 Type:
fdisk /dev/sd<X>
