Diagnosing When a Toshiba Phone Does Not Have Dial
Tone
If one of the Toshiba phones connected to your digital adapter does not have dial
tone, perform the following tasks:
■
Check if the phone without dialtone is connected to the TOSH 4 port on the
adapter.
■
Determine if the adapter is operating in an all digital mode or a mixed mode.
Use the yellow system status LED on the front of the adapter to determine the
mode. If the yellow LED is on, the adapter is operating in a mixed mode where
the TOSH 4 port is not enabled.
If the phone is connected to the TOSH 4 port and the adapter is operating in a mixed
mode, you need to reboot the adapter.
To perform a reboot, unplug the power to the adapter, and then reconnect the power.
Once the adapter completes the bootup process, the TOSH 4 port is enabled and the
adapter changes to all digital mode.
Diagnosing When an Analog Device is not Functioning
If you have an analog device, such as an analog phone, modem, or fax machine,
connected to your digital adapter and the device is not functioning, perform the
following tasks:
■
Check if the analog device is connected to the POTS port on the adapter.
■
Determine if the adapter is operating in an all digital mode or a mixed mode.
Use the yellow system status LED on the front of the adapter to determine the
mode. If the yellow LED is off, the adapter is operating in an all digital mode
and the POTS port is not enabled.
If the phone is connected to the POTS port and the adapter is operating in an all
digital mode, you need to reboot the adapter.
To perform a reboot, perform the following steps:
1.
Make sure no phone is connected to the TOSH 4 port.
2.
Unplug the power to the adapter, and then reconnect the power.
The adapter begins to reboot.
Once the adapter completes the bootup process, the POTS port is enabled and the
adapter operates in a mixed mode.
