Installing the 4-port Adapter
3-12 Sylantro 4-Port Adapter Installation Guide
You can assign an extension number using one of the phones you just connected, or
you can use the Management Portal. For information on assigning extension
numbers to adapter ports using the Management Portal, refer to the
Sylantro
Communications Management Portal User’s Guide
.
To assign extension numbers to telephones directly on each phone, follow these
steps:
1.
Go to the first telephone that you want to assign to an extension number, and go
off hook (that is, lift the receiver or press the
Spkr
button).
2.
Enter the following numeric series:
*51
, tenant reg code, registration password,
extension number.
For example,
*51 1111 2222 2351
where 1111 is the tenant reg code, 2222 is the registration password, and 2351
is the extension number you are assigning.
The tenant reg code and registration password are initially supplied by your
service provider. If you do not know these numbers, contact your service
provider or use the Management Portal to assign extension numbers as
described in the
Sylantro Management Portal User’s Guide
.
Repeat these steps for each telephone that you want to assign an extension to.
Caution:
The Management Portal allows you to assign extensions to all
five ports on the digital adapter even though only four are enabled. Before
you assign extensions, make sure you and the office administrator
understand which ports are enabled based on the mode the digital adapter
is operating in.
