Verifying and Troubleshooting
the 4-port Adapter Installation
This chapter describes how to verify that the adapter is working correctly and how
to troubleshoot adapter problems at the customer site.
This chapter contains the following topics:

Verifying Adapter Operation
After the adapter is powered up and the IP address and other information is entered
through the serial port or a telephone, the adapter boots up and registers itself with
the Control Server.
The registration process uses SNMP as follows:
1.
The adapter sends an SNMP trap to the Control Server.
2.
The Control Server acknowledges the trap and sends the configuration, as
specified in the LDAP directory, to the adapter.
3.
The Control Server sends a restart command to the adapter using SNMP.
4.
The adapter restarts and sends another SNMP trap to the Control Server.
5.
The Control Server acknowledges the trap.
