Chapter 3:  Troubleshooting

Losing the System’s Setup Configuration

1.

Check the jumper JBT1 setting.

Ensure that you are using a high

quality power supply.  A poor quality power supply may cause the

system to lose the CMOS setup information.  Refer to Chapter 1 of this

manual for details.

2.

If the above step does not fix the Setup Configuration problem, contact

your vendor for repair.

3-2

Technical Support Procedures

1.

Please go through the ‘Troubleshooting Procedures’ and 'Frequently Asked

Question' (FAQ) sections in this chapter of the manual or check our web site

FAQ (http:// www.supermicro.com) before contacting Technical Support.

2.

Take note that as a motherboard manufacturer Super Micro does not sell

directly to end-users, so it is best to check with your distributor or reseller

for troubleshooting services.  They should know of any possible problem(s)

with the specific system configuration that was sold to you.

3.

BIOS upgrades can be downloaded from the SUPER BBS# (408) 895-2022,

24 hours a day, using 1200-28800 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no parity.

BIOS upgrades can also be downloaded from our web site at http://

www.supermicro.com.

Note:  Not all BIOS can be flashed depending on the modifications to the

boot block code.

4.

If you still cannot resolve the problem, include the following information when

you e-mail Super Micro for technical support:

• BIOS release date/version

• System board serial number

• Product model name

• Invoice number and date

• System configuration

Due to the volume of e-mails we recieve and the time it takes to replicate

problems, a response to your question may not be immediately available.

Please understand that we do not have the resources to serve every end-

user, however we will try our best to help all our customers.

5.

Distributors: For immediate assistance, please have your account

number ready when placing a call to our technical support department.
