3.4.1 LANDING GEAR AND BRAKE SYSTEM FAULTS

- abraded nose gear wheel covering

- replace covering

- reference signs between wheel and rim of nose gear
shifted

- adjust covering and verify
possible damages of the air
valve

the main landing gear wheel is blocked

- verify tightening of bearings
on the hub, not too tightened
- replace linings and grind disc

- strong noises rising from the wheels during taxing, like
whistles, etc.

- possible seizing up of
bearings,
faulty brake linings

- "schimmy" phenomenon on the nose wheel

- too high landing speed,
check the nose gear unit for
possible damages

- strong vibrations rising from the nose gear unit

- check connection of the nose
gear leg

- brake handle to end of stroke but not braking
- brake fluid leak from pumps or from pipes

- air in the left or right circuit,
bleed the involved air circuit
– if necessary overhaul the
system

3.4.2 MAIN LANDING GEAR REMOVAL

(A&P)

- Remove wheel fairing
- It is necessary to lift the aircraft to remove main landing gear (see section: Points of Support)
- Disconnect brake fluid hoses from the leaf spring strut of main gear
- Remove wheel and bearings
- Remove brake calipers
- Unscrew and remove the under Landing Gear Caps.
