STORMAIRCRAFT

NOTES - TRANSPONDER BENDIX / KING KT 76 A

Use

PIN 8

for 28 VDC or

PIN 14

for 13,75 VDC .

Do not connect PIN 8 and PIN 14.

Together do not connect

PIN 8 or PIN 14

to the non-switched input on

PIN

of the KT 76A / 78A because damage to the altitude digitizer could occur.

PIN 14

is connected to

PIN 11

of the kt 76A/78A in A 28 VDC aircraft power

system when the transponder is turned off. The voltage at

PIN 11

will be

approximately 28 VDC through the series dropping resistors connect the input of the
altitude digitizer to a switchable voltage.

14 to 28 VDC changeover kit. Mount on aircraft firewall or other structural member

away from the avionics stack.

Connector terminals number is specified on connector.

All wires should be 22 AWG

Route the antenna cable as far as practical from any harness bundle. In no case

should the antenna cable be laced into a harness bundle.

Connector wiring for light dimmers.

Accepts positive going suppression pulses. Refer to KT 76A/78A

Service Bulletin

revised

for

incorporation of the suppression circuitry if the KT 76 A is below S/N

14,000 and the KT 78 A is below 7,000.

To be used with with digitizer rated at 31,000 feet and above there is no valid

information on the D4 below 31,000 feet. No damage will occur if D4 is connected
to a digitizer rated below 31,000 feet.
9-

EXT SBY when tied to ground will place that set in SBY MODE.

KT 76 A S/N 35,900

and above with MOD S status provides EXT SBY function.

S/N 35,899 and belowe and all KT 78 A sets, MOD S may be incorporated.
