WEIGHING AND BALANCING CALCULATION FORMULAS

Nose wheel aircraft :
Reference plane in front of the main wheels : C. G. = D - ( F x L/W )
Reference plane at the back of the main wheels : C. G. = - ( D + F x L/W )

Nose wheel aircraft :
Reference plane in front of the main wheels: C. G. = D+R (R x L/W)
Reference plane at the back of the main wheels: C. G. = D+R (R x L/W)

C.G. = distance from the reference plane to center of gravity of a/c

= aircraft weight when weighing.
D
= horizontal distance taken from reference plane to weighing point of main
wheels
L
= horizontal distance taken from weighing point of main wheels to nose or tail
weighing point
R
= weight on tail weighing point

WHERE : for formulas used in point B-04/c
A
= total weight when weighing
B
= weights to be added if not on board when weighing.
C
= weights to be deducted if on board when weighing.
G
= tare weight resulting from A+B-C.
E
= tare weight moment taken when weighing. (A)
F
= weight moment to be added if not on board when weighing. (B)
H
= weight moment to be deducted if on board when weighing.(C)
M
= tare weight moment resulting from: E+F-C.
X
= distance from reference plane of the gravity center of the tare weight of the
aircraft
L
= length of mean aerodynamic chord
Y
= distance of front end of the mean aerodynamic chord from reference plane.
% C.M.A. = tare weight gravity center position expressed in percentage of the mean
aerodynamic chord
NOTE : MAKE SURE THAT MEASUREMENT UNITS ARE EVEN
CLOSING THE OPERATIONS
Register the obtained results in the Weighing Report and Analysis.
Update all aircraft documentation (C.N. – Flight Manual - logbooks).
