STORMAIRCRAFT

REMOVAL

Disconnect battery

Empty tank completely using the bleeding screw under the tank on the decantation tank; open also
the bleeding screw under the gascolator.

CAUTION

: keep fire extinguisher within reach when draining the tank, take all necessary

precautionary measures, keep the area ventilated.

Disconnect fuel feed/return flow pipes

CAUTION

: if you do not expect to change the fuel pipes, we suggest to close them with a pin of the

same size as the inside diameter of the pipe.

INSTALLATION

a) carefully clean the inside of the tank from any processing residual, make sure that the breather
is free.
b) invert the sequence for installation

5.2 FUEL SYSTEM FITTINGS

GASCOLATOR FUEL FILTER

(DETAIL G - FUEL LINE DIAGRAM)

The gascolator, containing 0,13 gal fuel, is in the lowest part of the fuel circuit, on the firewall. The
fuel filter is inside the gascolator.
The gascolator has a pressure bleeding where the condensation residuals are collected; it can be
reached from the lower outside part of the nacelle.

ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP

(DETAIL H - FUEL LINE DIAGRAM)

This pump is used as auxiliary or emergency pump which can be turned on during take-off or
landing or in particular emergency conditions. The operation of this pump works on the vibrating
movement of a diaphragm cylinder which creates suction and pressure; its movement is controlled
by an electromagnet.

MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP

The mechanical diaphragm pump is controlled directly by the engine. When the engine is on, the
mechanical pump sucks fuel through the electric fuel pump, and sends it to the carburetors with a
pressure of about 0,15 - 0,4 bar (2.2 - 5.8 p.s.i.).
