10.3.9 line connection to the installed internal appliance
f
Pivot the wall mounted air conditioning appliance away from
the wall at the bottom, and insert a suitable spacer between
the mounting plate and wall mounted air conditioning unit.
Risk of injury
When handling the refrigerant, wear suitable safety gog-
gles and gloves.
f
Trim the refrigerant lines to the right length.
f
Push the union nuts onto the refrigerant lines.
f
Make the necessary pipe flange.
f
Make the refrigerant line straight and tighten the conical nut
by turning it three to four times by hand.
f
use two spanners to tighten and counterhold the pipework
connections. Observe the necessary torque values:
pipe diameter
torque
1/4“ / 6 mm
14 - 18 Nm
3/8“ / 10 mm
34 - 42 Nm
1/2“ / 12 mm
49 - 61 Nm
5/8“ / 16 mm
74 - 78 Nm

10.3.10 checking the system for leaks
f
Evacuate the refrigerant lines and check whether the vacuum
holds.
f
Break the vacuum and flood the pipework with nitrogen.
f
Check the tightness of all threaded fittings, using leak detec-
tion spray for example.
f
Insulate the refrigerant line connections at the internal ap-
pliance against vapour diffusion using suitable insulation
material.
f
Evacuate the pipework again.
The pipework is not filled with refrigerant until the external unit
has been installed.

10.3.11 making electrical connections
Danger to life through electrocution!
Prior to electrical installation work, always
:
f
isolate
f
secure against reconnection
f
verify the parts are isolated
f
cover any adjacent parts which are still ‚live‘
single-split appliances
- Power is supplied via the internal appliance.
- The external unit must be connected to the internal appliance
via a weather-resistant 230 V lead.
- The connection between the internal appliance and external
unit must be made with a direct connecting cable without
intermediate wiring.
- Observe the system power consumption and select a suitable
and permissible lead cross-section.
