6. what to do if ...
6.1 suspected fault
The following operational conditions are not faults. You do not
have to take any troubleshooting measures.
suspected fault
explanation
Appliance does not start immediately.
Wait until the appliance restarts automatically. The start-up protection can delay the restart
and prevent the appliance from starting for up to three minutes.
"Start time" time control is enabled. If necessary, switch off time control.
After the cooling or heating process has started or finished, a tick-
ing sound can be heard from within the appliance.
This noise is due to the slight expansion/contraction of the internal appliance due to tem-
perature changes.
The expelled air smells odd.
The appliance absorbs odours, e.g. from carpets, furniture, clothes, tobacco, cosmetics etc.
and blows these out with the air.
During and after operation, the sound of running water is heard.
This sound is due to the refrigerant circulating through the air conditioning system.
This sound is due to the heat exchanger defrosting.
This sound is due to the condensate flowing through the heat exchanger.
The room cannot be adequately cooled.
If heat sources, such as a ventilation fan or gas cooker, are used in the room, the required
cooling load increases, which may mean the cooling effect of the appliance is insufficient.
If the outside air temperature is very high, the cooling effect may be insufficient.
Fog is expelled from the air outlet flaps of the appliance.
The cold air from the appliance quickly cools the humidity contained in the room air. This is
then visible as fog.
A mechanical noise is emitted from within the appliance.
This is the fan switching on and off.
6.2 you can remedy these faults yourself
Before contacting customer service, check the following table to
see whether a simple solution is available for the problem.
fault
troubleshooting checks
The air conditioning system does not operate.
Is the power cable plugged in?
Is the remote control switched on? Are the batteries spent?
Is the fuse faulty?
Is the MCB, for example in the fuse box, switched off?
Has an automatic start time been programmed with the remote control?
Effective cooling not possible.
Is the temperature set correctly?
Is the filter clean?
Are the air inlet and outlet of the internal appliance or external unit blocked?
Is a window or door open?
The expelled air smells odd.
Odours may develop after commissioning as production residues are released from the heat
exchanger.
Is the filter clean?
No remote control display. The display is weak or the remote con-
trol signals are not reaching the infrared receiver.
Are the batteries spent?
Are the batteries inserted correctly (+,-)?
Are the keys on the remote control of another appliance being pressed?
Are there fluorescent lights in the direct proximity of the remote control?
The TIMER and DEFROST indicators are flashing five times a second.
With multi-split systems, this shows that another internal appliance with a different COOL/
HEAT mode is already in use. Other operating modes are not possible. The appliance in HEAT
mode always has priority.
6.3 other faults
Inform customer service of any other faults that are shown on the
internal appliance.
