P-14 Wrinkles
Print Sample Symptom
There are wrinkles in the paper that has been printed on.
Initial Check
Are any parts dirty, broken, malformed, incorrectly installed or different
from those listed in the specifications?
• Principle Parts to be Checked:
(1) Fuser assembly, (3) Heat roller, (3) Pressure roller
Step Check Remedy (if not normal)
1 (The paper is damp.)
Does the problem recur if new paper is used?
2 (The heat roller is defective.)
Are there any irregularities, such as scratches, foreign
matter or grime, on the heat roller?
3 (The pressure roller is defective.)
Are there any irregularities, such as scratches or
foreign matter, on the pressure roller?
4 (The paper was skewed.)
Was the paper skewed when it was fed into the
printer?
5 (The paper is not being fed through the printer
properly.)
Are there any irregularities, such as burrs, foreign
matter or grime, in the paper transport path?
6 (The paper roll is not being correctly fed into the
printer.)
Are there any irregularities, such as foreign matter,
grime or deformations, on the paper transport roll or is
it operating incorrectly?
Adjust the paper setting.
(Instruct the user on the correct procedure
for adjusting the paper setting.)
Replace the heat roller.
Replace the pressure roller.
Check the procedure described in section
P-13, Skewed
Replace the appropriate parts.
