To begin cleaning the AIT drive, insert the cleaning cartridge in slot CL/8 and
press the CLEAN button for at least three seconds.

If you are unable to open the front door, it may be locked from your backup
software.

If the cartridge is not ejected from the AIT drive when an error occurs,
proceed as follows.
1 Press the DOOR button for at least five seconds.
The cartridge is forcibly ejected from the AIT drive and the front
door unlocked.
2 Restart the system.
3 Restart the AIT autoloader.

] appears to be rotating or [E J] flashes on the display, then the loader
is in operation. Depending on the state of the cartridge, it may take up to 20
minutes for it to be detected.

Pressing the CLEAN and DOOR buttons simultaneously for at least five
seconds starts Disaster recovery.

Cleaning normally takes approximately one minute. If there is a cartridge in
the AIT drive when you begin cleaning the drive, it is returned to its original
slot before the cleaning procedure starts.
If you are writing to a damaged cartridge, unloading may take some time. For
this reason, cleaning can take up to 20 minutes.
