3-4 Recorder Selection Function
You can register two different ways in which operation of the keys (R, P1, and
P2 keys) in the MAVE-F555 FILE/PORT ASSIGN operation section
physically control which devices. Carry out the registration operation on the
MAV-555. On the MAVE-F555, by operating the two keys (MAV key and
VTR key) in the RECORDER SEL operation section, you can switch between
the two different settings. This function is known as the "recorder selection
function."
By using the recorder selection function, after carrying out linear/nonlinear
editing with a VTR as player and the MAV-555 as recorder, you can easily
return the editing result file created on the MAV-555 to the VTR. This makes
it easy to configure an editing system with a single VTR and single MAV-555.
3-4-1 Settings on the MAV-555
Carry out the settings for the recorder selection function in MAV-555
expanded menu item 324, "MAVE-F555 PORT." In the following table, the
settings enclosed in a box are the defaults.

3-4-2 Simple Switcher Function and Connection Configuration External
Notification Function
When you switch with the MAV key and VTR key in the RECORDER SEL
operation section, the RS-422 switcher connection configuration of the
MAVE-F555 (the connection configuration of the IN1/IN2/OUT1/OUT2
connectors) is also switched (simple switcher function). Since the open
collector output from the AV SEL OUT connector is also switched, the
connection configuration can be externally notified.
The following table shows the connection configuration and output from the
AV SEL OUT connector as the MAV key and VTR key are switched.
