Chapter 2 Installation
Installing the S-AIT Library
The S-AIT library weights about 27 kg/59.5 lbs. (with a single drive installed)
and has the following dimensions. With two drives installed, the S-AIT library
weighs approximately 31 kg/68.3 lbs. Make sure that the surface where you will
install the S-AIT library is appropriate before installing the unit.
With the rack mounting kit (sold separately), the S-AIT library can be installed
on an EIA STANDARD 19-inch rack (universal pitch). Contact your dealer for
information about the rack mounting kit.
Note
Install the S-AIT library on a horizontal surface near an AC power outlet. Make
sure that you leave gap of about 150 mm (5.9 in.) behind the rear of the unit to
allow air to circulate.
Recommended positioning of the unit
• Always position the unit horizontally.
• Away from moving air, such as fans, open windows, or air conditioners.
• Away from devices such as facsimiles to avoid toner and paper dust.
Caution
• The S-AIT library should not be stacked. Do not place anything on top of the
unit.
• Do not place the S-AIT library in locations subject to rapid temperature
changes. This could cause condensation to form inside the library, leading to
malfunctions.
