Performance Testing
Cold Start Test
Store the Fluid Warmer unit in a room where the room temperature is
approximately 21°C (70°F).
1
Put a Disposable Set in place.
2
Record the start time.
3
Turn the Power button ON.
• The green system operational indicator illuminates.
• Rapidly rising numbers will appear on the recirculating solu-
tion temperature display.
• Within 60 seconds (±) the display should read at least 30°C.
• In 3 to 10 minutes the display should read 41°C. The Temper-
ature Set Point is 41.7°C (+/- 0.3°C).
Note: If the Fluid Warmer does not pass the Cold Start Test, it
should be removed from use and returned to Smiths Medical or an
authorized representative for service.
Calibration Test
One approved way to confirm proper calibration of the recirculating
solution temperature is to use the Level 1
®
Thermal Calibration Well
(TCW) (Part Number 80-03-002). A replacement filter (F-10 or F-30)
must be in place to utilize the TCW.
Note: Use of the TCW requires a digital thermometer NIST traceable
and accurate within 0.1°C. Required probe size: 0.099" OD (Outside
Diameter) maximum (0.25 cm) 0.50" - 1.50" long (1.27-3.81cm).
Alternative Calibration Test
Another approved way to confirm proper calibration of the recirculating
solution temperature is to use the Level 1
®
DSTA-40 TEMP CHECK
(Part Number 80-01-004).
