Installation
The following section contains SkyWave's recommended installation guidelines for the
Solution Provider (SP). These recommendations should be incorporated into installation
guidelines for end users.

The installer is responsible for following
all safety guidelines during product installation.

The terminal uses very low power during transmission and therefore presents no radiation
hazard during normal use, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
4.1 Getting Started
Getting the terminals ready for battery operation requires doing the following:

Prepare for the installation (Section 4.2)

Determine a suitable mounting location (Section 4.3)
3.
Identify the fuse panel location (optional) (Section 4.4)
4.
Prepare the batteries (Section 4.5)
5.
Mount the terminal (Section 4.6)
6.
Mount the remote antenna (optional) (Section 4.7)
7.
Route the main cable (optional) (Section )
8.
Apply power (Section 4.9)
9.
Register the terminal (Section 4.10)
4.2 Prepare for the Installation
Check that you have the items and tools listed below before installing the terminal.
4.2.1 Shipping Box Contents
Unpack the contents of the shipping box(s) and use the list below as a guide to check that
you received the items you ordered.
IDP-800 terminal
12 x rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries (optional)
Remote standard or low elevation antenna (optional)
Mating connector kit with tube of dielectric grease
Power on/off magnet fob
