1.6 Operating Modes
The terminal operates in a number of modes while the application processor portion of
the terminal has its own independent set of modes.

The application processor portion of the terminal has its own independent set of modes.

Processing
In Processing mode the Lua services are actively running.
Power Save
In this mode the application processor is waiting for events. With
properly designed applications the application processor spends
most of its time in this mode.
Power Off
In this mode the application processor and modem are both
powered off. All terminal peripherals are off as well.
1.6.2 Satellite Modem
For the most part, the satellite modem operates independently of the application
controller. Consequently, power consumed by the satellite modem must be added
separately to determine a terminal's overall power consumption.
