Lanyard Strap Option (optional)
1.
Position the terminal in the marked location (Figure 55).
2.
Pull the lanyard taut and align the eyelet of the lanyard with a roof edge rivet hole.
If space allows, locate the lanyard's eyelet between two roof edge rivets.
3.
Use the lanyard eyelet as a template to mark the location of the eyelet hole.
CAUTION
Inspect the backside of the drilling surface to ensure
that nothing will be damaged when the drill bit
pierces through the surface.
4.
Drill where you marked the eyelet hole using an appropriate sized drill bit.
5.
Line up the lanyard’s eyelet with the drilled out hole and fasten with the appropriate
rivet, self-tapping screw, or bolt, washer, and nut combination.
Note:
When using a rivet, take care so that the rivet has the proper grip range
for the installation.
6.
Seal the eyelet hole with Sikaflex if required.
Attach the VHB Bracket
1.
Clean the vehicle's mounting surface thoroughly with a clean shop cloth and a 50\50
mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Let dry.
2.
Apply the 3M rubber and vinyl spray adhesive 80 to the mounting surface to
enhance the bond between the VHB on the bracket and the mounting surface. This is
especially important if the mounting surface is plastic or painted metal.
3.
Wait a few minutes until the mounting location is dry.
