15.3 Settings for MIG /MAG welding
The operating mode switch ‘S1’ allows the choice of the
welding mode.
•
Press switch selector ‘E1’ for a while; the relevant led
will start blinking.
•
Turn the selector until the led corresponding to the
MIG, MIG P (pulsed) or MIG DP (double-pulsed)
welding blinks (confirmation is automatic after 5
seconds of inactivity).
To select the operating mode:
•
Press switch selector ‘E1’ for two times; the relevant
led will start blinking.
•
Turn the knob until the led corresponding to the
mode wanted starts blinking. From the top left:
2-step (

), 4-step (

) or 3-level mode
(confirmation is automatic after 5 seconds of
inactivity).
2-step mode:
the welding process begins as soon as
the torch trigger is pressed and stops as soon as it is
released.
4-step mode:
when the torch trigger is pressed, the
welding process begins with a manual pre-gas; when
released, the real welding begins. When the torch
trigger is pressed again, the welding will stop, although
gas will still flow; when released, also the manual
post-gas will stop.
3-level mode

when the torch trigger is pressed,
the welding process begins at the current value set with
parameter ‘
Start cur
’ (see explanation below). When
the torch trigger is released, the current will rise up to
the value set with ‘E5’. When the torch trigger is
pressed again, the current will drop down to the value
set with parameter ‘
Crater cur
’ (see explanation
below). When the torch trigger is released again, the
welding process will stop.
The type of wire and protection gas used are set with
selector ‘E2’ followed by the diameter of the wire. By
doing this, the synergic welding curve most suited to the
material chosen is selected (to exit the synergy preset
parameters please see the paragraphs below).
•
Press selector ‘E2’ for a while; the relevant led will
start blinking.
•
Turn the knob until the led corresponding to the type
of wire and gas you want to use starts blinking
(confirmation is automatic after 5 seconds of
inactivity).
To change the wire diameter:
•
Press switch selector ‘E2’ for two times; the relevant
led will start blinking.
•
Turn the knob until the led corresponding to the
diameter of the wire used starts blinking
(confirmation is automatic after 5 seconds of
inactivity).
