13. PRINTER MAINTENANCE
When paper powder accumulates, cleaning the thermal head and the platen can maintain the print
quality for an extended period of time.

Cleaning Thermal Head / Platen / Rubber Feet
Turn off the printer.
Unplug the AC plug of the AC cable from the outlet.
Open the top cover.
Clean the thermal head, the platen, and/or the rubber feet with a cotton swab moistened with a
small amount of ethyl alcohol.
Wait until any ethyl alcohol remaining on the thermal head dries out completely, and then close the
top cover.

Clean the thermal head after it cools down.

Be sure to wipe the thermal head with a cotton swab or other soft material.

DO NOT touch the cutter blade directly.
◆
Make sure not to injure your body or other objects as the sheet metals around the
thermal head and the cutter have sharp edges.

DO NOT touch the gear of the platen. Doing so may cause loss of printing quality or a
failure.

The rubber feet have the special adsorption structure. They lose adsorption force as
dust or dirt adheres. However, it can be recovered by cleaning.
