Interface-specific programming
The Siemens support site "Siemens Industry Online Support

)" provides access functions

for the readers in the form of DLL files for Windows, as well as a demo application. With

operation via the USB interface on a PC (Windows), you can implement user identification

for access to your own applications quickly and simply with the help of the DLL file. The

reader reads/processes the serial numbers and data of transponders for this.
If SIMATIC RF1040R/RF1070R readers are operated on a communication module via the

RS232 interface, communication is performed using the Freeport protocol.

Application example

The following picture shows an example of an application of the SIMATIC RF1060R in

conjunction with a SIMATIC HMI.
