Serial Interface
3.4.5.1 Standard Serial Interface
The procedures LAUF (STX, data, ETX), 3964R (STX, DLE from
the partner, data, DLE ETX, BCC, DLE from the partner), and
SINEC L1 are available for the serial interface.
Setting of the Parameters in the DB1 for LAUF and 3964R

The input will be enabled by setting flag 12.0 (waiting for a
telegram). After the telegram arrives, the system resets F 12.0,
sets F 12.1, and enters in DR44 the number of characters
(amount of data without STX or ETX) which actually arrived.
The telegram is stored in DB (DL 42) beginning with DW
(DR 42), as indicated in DW 42. In case of an error condition,
F 12.2 will be set and the error indication will be entered in
DL 43 (DL 74).
The telegram to be output will be stored in a data block (without
STX, without ETX) by the user. Setting F 13.0 will cause the
system to output the telegram. Subsequently, the system will
set F 13.1 and reset F 13.0. In case of an error (with 3964R after
two retries), F 13.2 will also be set and the error code will be
entered in DL 46 (DR 74). Flag overview in Chapters 3.3.2.8
Using the procedure LAUF,
“
XON/XOFF" can be switched on
from the transmitting side.
The 3964R procedure allows increasing the buffer size by set
ting the parameters in DB 1, DR 41. Two bytes are then avail
able to indicate the length. Error messages are then located in
DW 74.
Remember:
The start of a transmitting telegram will
begin on the next cycle. The same applies
to the ready message of a received
telegram.
Caution:
Changes in DW 41 will only be
recognised after a voltage return.
SINEC L1 Operation via a Standard Serial Interface
The ES 030-K can be operated as a SINEC L1 bus user via the
standard serial interface.
The following explains how to operate the ES 030-K as a bus
user; master/slave operation will be explained in the next
section.

In case of an error, the telegram will not be repeated; this must
be done by the user.
A telegram that is to be sent to all bus users requires a receiver
address
“
31" for the telegram to be sent.
Actions/Reactions
If a telegram has arrived with an interrupt, F 12.4 will be set. If a
telegram is to be sent with an interrupt, F 13.4 must also be set
for each transmission.
SINEC L1 Master Operation via the Standard Serial
Interface
An ES 030-K can be operated as master for up to 16
secondary ES 030-K slaves. The user number 0 designates
the master.
